How This All Works

I've always loved shoes. It's one of the few anomalies that I, the quintessential non-girlie girl, can't seem to get away from. It's encoded in my DNA. One of my earliest memories is trying on my mom's knee-high, black suede boots, high-heeled, zipper all the way up the calf boots. In fact, Dorothy's sparkly red heels are the sole (pun intended) reason I tuned in year after year to watch The Wizard of Oz as a child. Well, that and the flying monkeys, but that's an entirely different blog.

My name is Heather, and I am a Shoe Whore.

At work, I have built a reputation as the manager with the best shoes. Several of my colleagues have confessed that the first thing they do when they see me is look at my feet. Last year, during my mid-year review, my boss asked me just how many pairs of heels I owned. I guessed it to be around 30, to which she expressed surprise that it was below 50. But when I went home that night and counted? I only had 23.

Yeah. I hate being a disappointment.

So I set about to stop denying myself the simple pleasures in life and began indulging my stiletto-lined dreams. I started by searching out the best deals in town and quickly moved to spending long hours scrolling through page after page of online shoes just to find the perfect pair for an amazing price. Or maybe 4 pairs for a killer price. Now, as my love and subsequent procuring of shoes has caused me to succeed in reaching over 50 pairs, I have decided to share my closet with the world.

Through reviews. Because there's no way anyone is touching my shoes.

I will scour the shops and online, put my incredible pedicures to the test as well as my innate ability to walk in 5 inch platforms without breaking something, and review each and every shoe my soles lust after. I will rate them on Style, Price, Comfort, Fit, Durability and Overall Value with a scale of I-wouldn't-even-gift-these-to-my-ex-mother-in-law all the way to Imelda-Marcos-put-a-hit-out-on-me-so-she-can-steal-these.

Or I could just go with the slightly less complicated method of 0-5 stars.
